Steeped in wisdom, the Salmon of Knowledge is a legendary creature from Irish mythology that ate nine hazelnuts that fell into the well of wisdom, and thus gained all of the wisdom in the world. Consuming its flesh was said to bestow unparalleled knowledge upon the eater. The legenday hero Fionn mac Cumhaill accidentally gained the salmons knowledge, which gave him the wisdom to become the leader of the warriors of the Fianna. This mythical fish is representative of the wisdom to be gained from the natural world.
